Suffolk Sails was started by Jim Welland after partnering Clarence ‘Austin’ Farrar at Seahorse Sails and later Austin Farrars Sailmakers. Suffolk Sails started life in a small workshop next door to Robertsons boatyard on the river Deben in Woodbridge, liable to flooding it wasn’t long before the loft moved to it’s current premises down river next door to the famous Tidemill in Woodbridge, Suffolk.
Currently owned and run by Simon Scammell, joining Suffolk Sails in 1998.
The loft has just undergone a major refurbishment with a new floor and sail storage system installed, giving an upto date loft so we can build the best sails and covers available.
